YANN VASNIER

Born and raised in the picturesque countryside of Brittany, France, Yann Vasnier's love for scents was sparked by the lush gardens surrounding his family home. As a young man, he was further drawn to the world of perfumery through visits to the Divine house in Dinard. Determined to make a career out of his passion, Vasnier focused his academic pursuits on passing the perfumer's exam. His hard work and dedication eventually led him to be hired by Quest International (now part of Givaudan) and granted admission to the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles. He had the unique opportunity to train under the legendary perfumer Francoise Caron there.

Upon joining Givaudan, Vasnier quickly gained a reputation as a talented and innovative perfumer. His remarkable creativity and skill led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry. Vasnier played a significant role in creating two iconic fragrances for Marc Jacobs: Lola (in collaboration with Calice Becker) and Bang. These scents have been commercially successful and contributed to a shift in the fragrance market from celebrity-driven lines to designer-brand offerings.

In addition to his work with Marc Jacobs, Vasnier has developed fragrances for a diverse range of high-profile brands, including Six Scents, Parfums DelRae, Tom Ford, Divine, Donna Karan, and Comme des Garçons. Despite his remarkable achievements, Vasnier remains relatively unknown outside the circle of international-style elites.

Vasnier's approach to perfume creation is rooted in his upbringing, where he was inspired by the natural beauty of Brittany's countryside and the artistry of scent. His work is characterized by an adventurous spirit and a commitment to exploring new paths in perfumery. This has allowed him to develop a distinctively modern and sophisticated style in his fragrance compositions.
