ZARKO AHLMANN PAVLOV
Zarko Ahlmann Pavlov is a Danish designer, founder and creative director of the perfume brand Zarkoperfume. He was born and raised in the city of Hornbæk in the north of the Danish island of Zealand. He does not have a specialized perfume education. He has been fascinated by fragrances all his life, and his first olfactory memory is the smell of vanilla that his mother used when baking cakes. In 2008, he began to study the craft of perfumery, and in 2014 he released his first line of fragrances. In his works, Pavlov sought to convey the atmosphere, climate, lifestyle and aesthetics of his native Scandinavia. The brand debuted with five fragrances: e'L is dedicated to the author's wife, Lena; Inception is named after the eponymous film by Christopher Nolan; Oud'Ish is a woody fragrance with notes of oud, green tea, musk and amber. The name of the brand's bestseller, Pink Molécule 090.09, encodes the period of the perfumer's work on the composition - nine months and nine days, and Molécule 234.38 - the molecular weight of the formula used. The author was inspired by the concept of "molecular" perfumes Escentric Molecules: the compositions of Zarkoperfume are distinguished by the same minimalist sound, and the bottles and packaging are laconic and simple. In the following years, Pavlov presented the woody Molécule No. 8 and Buddha-Wood, the fruity-musky Ménage à Trois and the floral Chypre 23. Among the author's latest works are Stratus, No. 2 and No. 3, united in the Cloud Collection, as well as The Lawyer, The Muse and the new 2021 Quantum Molécule.
