Parfums MDCI is a French perfume brand founded by creative director Claude Marchal in 2003. Marchal began inviting both star perfumers, including Bertrand Duchaufour, Pierre Bourdon and Patricia de Nicolai, and young perfumers, including Cecile Zarokian, Stephanie Bakuch, Anne-Sophie Behaghel and others, to work on perfume compositions. The creative director draws inspiration from the culture and legends of Ancient Greece and Rome, as well as from Renaissance Europe. The brand's most commercially successful fragrance is considered to be the peach-floral Peche Cardinal, created by Firmenich perfumer Amandine-Claire Marie. The fragrances are sold in two formats: a bottle with a brush and a more expensive version with a sculptural stopper. In 2018, Claude Marchal presented a new collection, The Paintings Collection, which is inspired by various paintings personally selected by the creative director. The fragrances were created by perfumers Nathalie Feistauer and Cecile Zarokian.
