ELISE BENAT

Elise Benat, a perfumer at Firmenich, was born and raised in the South of France, surrounded by the Mediterranean sea, maquis, myrtle, and salt. She reminisces about these scents with admiration. As a teenager, Elise traveled to various exotic corners of the world, which later influenced her future work in creating delicate and surprising fragrances.

Elise discovered her passion for perfume while studying chemistry during her first smell training course. She describes this as a real eye-opener, and from that moment, she was determined to pursue a career in perfumery. Her dream became a reality when she joined the Firmenich team.

For Elise, fragrance creation is like photography, as she sees scents as images. She finds inspiration in art and literature and enjoys translating words into aromas. As she says, "When I create, I see pictures. Like a photographer, I imagine scents as images."

Aside from her passion for perfume, Elise enjoys reading and finds solace in literature. Her experiences and passions have undoubtedly contributed to her success as a perfumer, and her creations continue to surprise and delight the fragrance industry.
