The French brand Maison Francis Kurkdjian was founded by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and his business partner Marc Chailly in 2009. The house offers fragrances created in the traditions of classic French perfumery, interpreted in the language of modernity and elegant perfectionism. Francis Kurkdjian holds the positions of creative director and perfumer. The brand's flagship boutique is located in Paris, in the Marais district, at 7 rue des Blancs Manteaux. In addition, mono-brand stores can be found in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Miami, Taipei and Taichung (Taiwan). In total, the products are presented in more than 42 countries around the world. In 2009, Maison Francis Kurkdjian released eight fragrances at once. Some of them (for example, APOM pour femme and Aqua Universalis) have become classics of the brand and are still being produced. In 2012, the limited edition floral fragrance Coloratura, inspired by Russia, was released. Fifty bottles went on sale in Moscow; the same number was sold in Paris. In 2014, in honor of the 120th anniversary of Moscow's GUM, the floral-amber cologne Ciel de GUM was created. It was used to scent the water in a fountain installed in the middle of GUM. Known for his love and ability to weave fragrances into the context of various installations, the perfumer not only scented the water in the fountain, but also selected the appropriate music and lighting accompaniment. He personally arrived in Moscow for the opening of the installation. In 2015, the brand joined the Colbert Committee, an influential public organization uniting manufacturers from the luxury industry in France. In 2016, Maison Francis Kurkdjian released its absolute bestseller, Baccarat Rouge 540, which caused a lot of controversy among the brand's audience. On March 20, 2017, Shaya and Kurkdjian announced the sale of the company to the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) concern. The former owners of the company retained their previous positions.
