ANNIE BUZANTIAN
Annie Buzantian is a highly acclaimed Master Perfumer with decades of experience in the fragrance industry. She has been a part of the Firmenich family since 1972 when she began as the company's first perfumer trainee. During her tenure, she has created over 90 fragrances, many of which have become classics in the history of perfumery.
A childhood spent on the Romanian seaside and the forests of Lebanon exposed Annie Buzantian to the natural world. Annie developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and the beauty of the senses. Although she initially had no experience in fragrance, her lab assistant position at Universal Oil Products (now Givaudan) in the early 1970s led to her discovery of a passion for perfumery. She was soon promoted to the junior perfumer, where she was able to learn from the legendary master perfumer Elie Roger.
In 1988, Annie Buzantian was named Master Perfumer at Firmenich, where she was the first woman to hold this title.
Annie has worked with numerous high-profile brands throughout her career, including Tommy Hilfiger, Estée Lauder, Marc Jacobs, and Ralph Lauren. Her creations have helped to drive the fine fragrance market and have earned her multiple awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Perfumers in 2003 and the Fragrance Foundation Perfumer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
Fascinated by the limitless possibilities of perfumery, Annie continues to push the boundaries of fragrance creation and inspire others in the industry. She is truly a master of her craft and a respected figure in the world of perfumery.
