NISRINE BOUAZZAOUI GRILLIE

Nisrine Grillie is a perfumer at Givaudan. She is the author of Desert Suave and Tapis Volant Les Liquides Imaginaires, Sloane Ravers Ex Nihilo and the updated H&M perfume line. In 2008, she graduated from the Normandy University INSA Rouen, where she studied organic chemistry and engineering. After graduation, she got an internship in the Dior perfume department and spent the next 7 months developing production processes. In the fall of 2008, Grillie was accepted to the Givaudan staff as a junior evaluator. After three years of working on fragrances for cosmetic lines, she began training as a perfumer. In 2016, Grillie received the title of junior perfumer and began working on orders for major brands. Her debut works include Desert Suave by the niche brand Les Liquides Imaginaires, created under the mentorship and in collaboration with Quentin Bisch, as well as a new product in the Azzaro pour Homme line - the men's fragrance Naughty Leather. In 2018, an updated perfume collection was released by the Swedish fashion retailer H&M, on which Grillie worked with another Givaudan perfumer, Olivier Pescheux. Together, they created three lines of fragrances in different price segments. The most budget-friendly series, The Singles, includes mono-fragrances dedicated to individual notes (Berries, Choc, Pear, Vanilla) or abstract accords (Garden, Lipstick, Sunray, T-Shirt). The Reveries series includes compositions tied to a certain narrative. Popular works include the chypres Sparks Will Fly and Flowerscape, the spicy Above the Clouds, the oriental Way Past Midnight and the aquatic Arboretum. The Essences line is positioned as premium; the fragrances included in it have a more complex sound, built around one key component - sandalwood (Santalum), ylang-ylang (Comoro Ylang), vetiver (Les Cayes Vetyver), patchouli (Makassar Patchouli) and rose (Rose Absolute). 2019 brought collaboration with Ex Nihilo, for whom Grillie created a spicy oriental composition Sloane Ravers. That same year, her second work for Les Liquides Imaginaires, Tapis Volant, was released; Grillie's co-author was again Quentin Bisch. The latest work in the perfumer's portfolio to date is a new product in the line of the Italian luxury brand Moncler, Moncler pour Femme. The floral-woody composition with powdery nuances was released in 2021.
