PRADA
Prada is an Italian brand of fashionable clothes, shoes, accessories and perfumes, founded in Milan in 1913 by brothers Mario and Martino Prada. Since 1978, the brand has been managed by Miuccia Prada, Mario's granddaughter. For most of the last century, the brand produced leather accessories, but it gained worldwide fame thanks to a line of backpacks, which appeared in major Italian department stores in 1979. Five years later, the brand's collection was expanded to include shoes, and four years later, a line of women's clothing joined it. The debut fragrance in the Prada portfolio was released in 1990, while the brand's real recognition in perfumery came from working with the Spanish licensor Puig. The debut launch of this collaboration was the Prada Exclusives line, which included three fragrances (No. 1 Iris, No. 2 Oeillet and No. 3 Cuir Ambre); Following this, the flagship perfume water Amber and its two flankers appeared, and in 2007 the brand presented one of its main bestsellers - Infusion d'Iris, created by Daniela Roche-Andrieu. In the following few years, the brand develops all three directions: new products appear in the Exclusives series, following the iris composition, Infusion d'Homme comes out, Prada Amber receives new variations. In 2011, the brand presents the gourmet composition Candy, which became one of the first "big" works of the gaining popularity confectionery trend; several flankers or limited editions are added to it every year. In 2012, Prada celebrates its collaboration with the sailing crew Luna Rossa by releasing a men's fragrance of the same name - it begins the history of the collection, which has become one of the most popular for the brand. The central premiere of the second half of the 2010s was the Prada La Femme and L’Homme paired fragrances, released in 2016. A year later, the brand presented the Olfactories collection, intended for narrow distribution; its first 10 fragrances were joined in the next two years by eight more oriental compositions in blue glass bottles. Currently, the brand is developing all existing lines, paying special attention to the Prada men’s and women’s paired fragrances and the Candy collection.
