JO MALONE
Jo Malone London is a British perfume brand founded by cosmetologist Jo Malone in 1994 and specializing in the production of colognes, as well as body products and interior fragrances. Since 1999, it has been part of the Estée Lauder corporation. The history of the brand began with the founder's interest in mixing essential oils: Malone gave clients of the spa salon where she worked bottles of fragrant bath oil, and a few years later, with the financial support of her husband, she opened the first store of the same name at 154 Walton Street in London. Later, her collection will include the citrus fragrance 154 Cologne, dedicated to the flagship boutique. In 1999, Malone sold her business to Estée Lauder, but remained working with the brand as creative director until 2006. Five years later, in 2011, she presented her new project Jo Loves. Until the second half of the 2000s, the brand released fragrances in the eau de cologne format. In 2008, the collection saw the introduction of the first rich composition, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, followed two years later by Amber & Patchouli, Iris & White Musk, Oud & Bergamot and Rose Water & Vanilla. Over the following years, the Cologne Intense line was expanded, and along with the fragrances, candles, body products and home perfumes were released. Some series (for example, Orange Bitters) were also released in special Christmas packaging. In 2011, the brand presented its first limited edition line, united by the theme of tea; it included the fragrances Assam & Grapefruit, Earl Grey & Cucumber, Fresh Mint Leaf, Sweet Lemon and Sweet Milk. The compositions went on sale in March in 30 ml bottles and became the beginning of the brand's traditional spring launches. In subsequent years, limited edition lines were released dedicated to desserts, British history, the Bloomsbury Circle, aromatic herbs and other traditionally English themes. In addition to limited editions and Cologne Intense fragrances, in 2016 the brand presented the Rare Teas collection dedicated to noble tea varieties. The fragrances from it appeared in the brand's corners and boutiques in larger-than-usual bottles (from 75 to 175 ml), with an updated design and at a higher price. In recent years, the brand has been focusing on the concept of mixing fragrances and the art of gift-giving: special packaging of fragrances and other products can be ordered at branded points of sale, and for holidays the brand often releases bestsellers and new products in special packaging.
