Jean-Louis Sieuzac is a highly respected perfumer known for his contributions to the world of contemporary perfumery. He began his career in the fragrance industry with the Roure company, which is now known as Givaudan. During his time at Roure, Sieuzac had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest perfumers in the industry, and he developed several iconic fragrances.

In 1976, Sieuzac created his most famous fragrance, Kouros, for Yves Saint Laurent. The scent caused controversy due to its strong, animalistic notes, and some even claimed it encouraged illicit substance consumption. Despite the controversy, Kouros became a cult classic and is still highly regarded today.

Sieuzac continued to create fragrances for top luxury brands, including Bel Ami for Hermès, Dune and Fahrenheit for Dior, and Opium for Yves Saint Laurent. He also collaborated with Shiseido, Oscar de la Renta, and Eden Classic.

In 1998, Sieuzac joined Florasynth, which later became Symrise, a German company known for producing fragrances, flavors, and active cosmetic ingredients. During his time at Symrise, Sieuzac continued to develop exceptional perfumes and contributed to the company's success.

Despite many accomplishments, Sieuzac is known for being private and modest about his work. He prefers to let his fragrances speak for themselves and believes that a fragrance should be judged solely on its olfactory qualities.
