Sophie Chabaud is a French perfumer and the founder of the independent brand Chabaud Maison de Parfum. Chabaud does not have a formal perfume education; she studied the craft of creating compositions at the private Parisian school Cinquième Sens. In 2002, together with her husband Christophe, she founded her own brand Chabaud Maison de Parfum, for which she also created the first fragrances. The debut line included the white floral chypre Chic et Bohème, the floral compositions Innocente Fragilité and Etoile de Lune, the Vintage fragrance inspired by 20th-century film divas, the oriental Mysterious Oud and Eau Ambrée, and the green Fleur de Figuier. The brand gained wider recognition in the industry after its rebranding and presentation at the Esxence perfume exhibition in 2013, and the most popular were the gourmand compositions Lait de Biscuit and Lait de Vanille, inspired by Chabot's memories of her grandmother's pastry shop. Chabot is close to the concept of conditionally "white" fragrances that interpret the concepts of purity and elegance. The brand also pays great attention to creating perfume collections for the home: the founder interprets the smell as something that creates a holistic space of pure beauty and sophistication. In the fall of 2018, Chabot presented a new line of Paysages Olfactifs, created for the brand by the Parisian perfume atelier Maelstrom. Patrice Revillard, Marie Schnirer and Johan Cervi worked on the compositions Rose Orage, Orangerie Musicale and Ile Mythique. Today, Chabot lives and works in Grasse; the brand's production is entirely concentrated in France. Her business partner and brand director is Mattia Bono.
