FRANK VOELKL

Frank Voelkl is a Senior Perfumer at Firmenich, with over 20 years of experience in the fragrance industry. Born and raised in Germany, Frank was always drawn to scents and had a keen sense of smell from an early age. He reminisces about the pungent odors of the barnyard and the fresh rain at his uncle's farm that left a lasting impression on him.

After spending his formative years in France and the Netherlands, Frank's interest in scent deepened. He recalls the rich, warm chypre fragrances his mother wore in Paris, as well as the bold and daring statement scents of the 80s. It was during this time that Frank began wearing fragrances himself and started considering a career in perfumery.

Frank pursued his passion for fragrance by studying at the prestigious ISIPCA in France, where he composed his first fragrance, a tiare flower. This fragrance was a tribute to his Tahitian wife and marked the beginning of his journey as a perfumer.

As a contemporary adventurer, Frank is always seeking out new experiences and draws inspiration from his travels to French Polynesia. He describes the intoxicating air of the islands as being "redolent with the colors and scents of nature in its purest form." For Frank, the natural beauty and abundance of French Polynesia is a never-ending source of inspiration.

Frank is a quiet yet charismatic man who believes in creating fragrances that connect with your soul. He has a deep understanding of the emotional power of scent and strives to craft fragrances that evoke a profound emotional connection. "My goal," he says, "is to craft scents that will elicit pure, unadulterated happiness."

Frank's fragrances are beloved by many, including the popular Santal 33 from Le Labo and Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker. He has also created fragrances for prestigious brands such as Guerlain, Dolce&Gabbana, and Hugo Boss, among others.
