V-CANTO
V Canto is an Italian brand founded in 2015 by Paolo and Tiziana Terenzi, owners of the Tiziana Terenzi and Giardino Benessere brands. The fragrances in the line are inspired by the stories and images of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy; their motto is "With love, everything is possible." The brand's first 10 works went on sale in 2015 and described the action of the fifth song of Dante's poem, in which the author develops the love story of Francesca and Paolo; thus, the moment of their kiss is reflected in the Mea Culpa fragrance ("My fault"). Other important plot twists are described by Irae, Alibi, Cor Gentile, etc. Following the debut compositions, in 2016 the brand presented a series whose central figure was Lucrezia Borgia. The first three fragrances in bottles with a velvety burgundy coating described the image of the "great poisoner" and the poisons of her era. A year later, the citrus-pink Cicuta and agarwood Mandragola were joined by Stricnina with notes of raspberry and tropical fruits, and in 2018 by Stramonio, in which the character of datura is conveyed by shades of gray amber and spices. In 2017, the brand's portfolio was expanded by Arsenico, dedicated to arsenic - its greenish hue was reflected in the design of the line, which a year later was joined by the compositions Curaro, Cianuro and Ricina. Among the brand's latest works is a duet that symbolically unites two collections and is dedicated to feelings (green aromatic Fili) and poisons (Posi with nuances of rose and agarwood).
