PHILIPPINE COURTIERE
Philippine Courtier is a perfumer at Firmenich. She was born in Paris in 1986 into a family close to the fashion and perfume industries. She is the granddaughter of one of the founders of the house of Christian Dior, Jacques Rouet. Her father is the former president of the couture division of Givenchy, and her mother also worked in the perfume industry. Courtier studied law at the University of Nanterre-la-Défense, but decided to try her hand at creating fragrances and in 2007 got an internship at Robertet. In 2009, Courtier got a job as a lab assistant at Firmenich, and for the next few years she underwent in-house training in the company's offices in Geneva, New York and Dubai. In 2014, she received the title of perfumer and began working on brand orders. Among her first works were three compositions for the Italian niche brand M.INT - the oriental Hit The Mark, the floral-fruity Irisation and the chypre 3-D Scent. They were followed by Rose Pompon Goutal Paris and Silver Wood Korloff. 2017 brought two fragrances for the American brand Elisire - Desired and Oderose, as well as works for Omanluxury (Samahram), Atkinsons (Gold Fair In Mayfair) and Maison Matine (Bain de Midi and Avant l’Orage). Courtier was the author of a line of four fragrances for the Wik & Co. brand, released in 2019 and quickly discontinued. Among her latest works are nine compositions for the young niche brand from Germany Mavemade. The 2021 collection includes spicy fragrances Glück and Artig, gourmand Sucht, aldehyde Eifer, woody Haft, floral Selig, fruity Wahr and Wunder, as well as musky Zweifel.
