Danish designer Zarco Ahlmann Pavlov founded the Zarcoperfume brand in 2008. He admits that his earliest olfactory memory is "the warm, sweet smell of vanilla that my mother used when baking cakes." He dreamed of "creating perfumes that reflect the unique climate, lifestyle and aesthetics of his native Scandinavia." Work on the debut line lasted six years, and in 2014, five fragrances - Inception, Molécule 234.38, Pink Molécule 090.09, Oud'Ish, e'L - went on sale. Conceptually, the brand is the heir to Geza Schön's Escentric Molecules: minimalist compositions are made up of several synthetic components. The bottles and packaging have a laconic design, with details such as gold-plated caps and textured white labels. e'L is dedicated to Pavlov's wife, Lena, with whom he has been in a relationship for over 30 years. The name of the brand's bestseller, Pink Molécule 090.09, encodes the period of the perfumer's work on the composition - nine months and nine days, and Molécule 234.38 - the molecular weight of the formula used. Inception was inspired by the film of the same name by Christopher Nolan. Oud'Ish is a woody fragrance with notes of oud, green tea, musk and amber. A year later, Molécule No.8 was released, which contains eight synthetic ingredients, mandarin and patchouli oils, as well as rose absolute. In 2016, Zarcoperfume released only two fragrances, Buddha-Wood with a note of bodhi wood and the fruity-musky Ménage à Trois. Chypre 23, combining notes of flowers and fruits, labdanum, patchouli and oak moss, went on sale in 2018. The brand's latest release, Purple Molécule 070•07, is notable for the jackfruit note declared in the composition.
