Luca Gritti is an Italian perfumer and founder of the niche brand Gritti. He comes from the family of the Ottoman diplomat and politician of Venetian origin Alvise Gritti, which for six centuries included doges, generals, artists and other famous figures of Italian history. The Gritti family has owned a perfume production in Venice since 1946. Planning to continue the professional dynasty, Gritti received an education in chemistry. Then he studied finance, but later returned to the family business and in 2010 founded the independent perfume brand Gritti. The first fragrances of the collection were Antalya, Delirium, Preludio and Saraj, released in 2010-2011. In 2012, they were joined by the compositions Aqua Incanta and Damascus, and a year later the brand launched the White Edition series, which was subsequently discontinued. In 2014, the brand continued the first "black" line with the premieres of Fanós, Noctem Arabs and Doped Tuberose, and in 2015, it presented the luxurious Parfum Privée collection - over the course of four years, it included 10 compositions, including the Fenice fragrance in a scarlet bottle, released in 2017 for the German market, but later included in the permanent line. A year later, Gritti presented the citrus-aromatic 19-68, named after the year of his birth, and limited (2,000 bottles) perfume Tutù. In addition to developing his own brand, the perfumer has repeatedly acted as the author of fragrances for third-party brands. His portfolio includes collaborations with Unique, Venezia 1920, Accendis, Profumi di Pantelleria, Choix and True Diamond Perfume.
