Lucien Ferrero is a French perfumer and founder of the independent brand Lucien Ferrero Maître Parfumeur. Born in Grasse to a family of perfume producers, he initially planned to pursue a career in forestry and began studying agronomy, but quickly became disillusioned and returned to the family business. In 1968, he was drafted into the military, returning from which he enrolled in the Givaudan perfumery school. Upon completion, he was hired by the company. After three years of creating fragrances for cosmetics, Ferrero accepted a position at Givaudan's Paris branch and began developing signature fragrances for major brands. Over the following decades, he created numerous fragrances, but his name has largely remained in the shadows. His most famous works include Bogart Jacques Bogart and several compositions for the house of Lubin, including L de Lubin, Le Vetiver, and Nuit de Longchamp. Ferrero is known for his collaborations with contemporary independent brands, including Laboratorio Olfattivo, for which he created Tantrico and Vetyverso, and the Italian niche brand Maison Tahité. In addition to developing fragrances, Ferrero is a lecturer at the European University of Aroma and Taste, where he lectures on perfumery to the general public.
