HERVE GAMBS
Hervé Gambs is a French interior and textile designer and founder of the Hervé Gambs perfume brand. He graduated from the ESAM Design school in Paris. He worked in interior design and textile decor. While decorating spaces, Gambs began to notice that interiors often lacked fragrance to fully reveal the author’s aesthetic and artistic vision. This is how he became interested in perfumery and interior compositions and in 1990 he opened his first boutique in Paris. Three years later, his debut collection of home fragrances was released, and for the next twenty years, Gambs concentrated on its development. One of the key themes in Gambs’s design projects — flowers — was also expressed in interior products: plant scents predominate in the brand’s works. In 2013, the brand’s first line of personal fragrances was released. Parfums Couture included Coeur Couronne, Coup de Grace, Hotel Particulier, Jardin Prive and Rouge Cardinal; a year later, the series was supplemented with perfumed candles. 2015 brought two new collections at once: Cologne Intense (Domaine du Cap, Hotel Riviera and La Baie des Anges), dedicated to summer and relaxation in the south of France, and Eaux de Parfum, a line of rich woody-spicy fragrances enclosed in black glass and inspired by "the wild nature hidden in each of us." In 2018, at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, Gumbs presented a collection of citrus colognes, which included compositions based on lemon sorbet with cardamom (Ice Lemon), ice mojito with juniper (Ice River) and mandarin-lavender ice with blackcurrant (Ice Land). Among the brand's latest releases is the premium Parfum Prestige series of 2018, which includes Eden Palace, Oud Plaza and Iris Royal. In 2019, the line was expanded with Tonka Majestic, which the brand presented at the Esxence niche perfumery exhibition.
